Same same but different (sugar and plastic)
This series deals with the oversupply of sugar and plastic. Historical still lifes ("Le Panier de Fraises des Bois" and "Nature Morte avec Carafe et Fruits" by Jean Siméon Chardin as well as "Stilleven met Aspergers" and "Stilleven met Bosaardbeien" by Adriaen Coorte), which show natural materials and food, serve as templates for the photographs. In my reinterpretation, the natural elements are replaced by ones made of sugar, plastic and industrially produced goods. The photos look like historical paintings, but when the viewer takes a closer look at the tempting fruits, flowers, etc., it turns out to be a "disappointment" made of sugar and plastic.
